Jamie T defeated Jarvis Cocker and Thom Yorke to win the Best Solo Artist at the 2007 Shockwave NME Awards. He has also been nicknamed "one man Arctic Monkey".
Canvas Magazine have described him as "like the bastard lovechild of Billy Bragg and Mike Skinner doing his best Joe Strummer impression"
