Nature by Numbers es un video de Cristobal Vila que me ha gustado muchísimo. El viernes por la noche viendo videos de You Tube en casa, mi amigo Pablo Pablo puso este video y cuando leí el nombre de Cristobal Vila pensé que justo Cristobal había escrito un comment en el post anterior y nos ha retwiteado alguna vez. Una coincidencia de las buenas.

Con más de dos millones de visitas y música de Wim Mertens, merece la pena ver el video en 720p.

También merece mucho la pena meterse en la web de Etera Studios, hay muchos trabajos, links y tutoriales interesantes.

Después de empezar un nuevo trabajo hace un mes, me he dado cuenta que cada vez saco menos tiempo para el blog, así que de momento le voy a dar un respiro, publicaré algo menos, pero intentaré publicar cosas de calidad. Donde seguiré metiendo links es en el Twitter del blog @lamaldiciond, mi cuenta de twitter @manusainz o google +. Cuesta menos tiempo, es más cómodo y es más fácil. La tecnología cambia, quizás los blogs ya no se lean tanto? Quizás es el verano? Con esto no quiero decir que se termine la maldición, seguiremos generando ( Digo copiando) Contenido.

A History Of The Title Sequence

A History Of The Title Sequence is a graduation project from Jurjen Versteeg

This title sequence provides an overview of the history of title design. The names of the most influential title designers are mentioned, all of whom have had a big influence on the development and history of title design. Each designer's name refers to the revolutionary titles they designed. The cut-up typography of Saul Bass' name, for example, refers to titles for Psycho, and the colored circles refer to Maurice Binder's titles for Dr. No. In this way, I've tried to characterize each name. My aim was to give these characteristics, which were added in the post-production stage, as much of an analogue feel as possible. I wanted the visual effects to be in line with the live action footage.

I recently read in The Art of the Title Sequence these Emmy nominations for outstaing opening titles. All of them are great, If you are interested in video and post-production, I would recomend you to spend five minutes and watch them all. I think my favourite is the first one: Boardwalk Empire.

Nightsurf es un video de Iker Elorrieta. Sin ninguna intención de simular la realidad, con una sony EX1, buena iluminación y Twixtor en postproducción para los slow motions, ha creado este video de surfistas de noche en una playa de Tenerife. Impresionante. Ya tiene 135.000 visitas.

Luther

Ayer vi el primer capítulo de Luther una serie de seis capítulos que sacó la BCC en 2010. Tiene un 8.5 en IMDB. La postproducción la han hecho los de Pepper post. Pepper Post también es la productora encargada de Sherlock. Desgraciadamente tuvieron que cerrar la semana pasada por culpa de la crisis. Me pregunto ¿Cómo una productora que hace material con tanta calidad tiene que cerrar sus puertas? En fin, al tema: Luther una serie de crimen psicológico, buen montaje, buena fotografía, Idris Elba (The Wire) de protagonista, ambientado en east london, cerca de casa.

OFFF Barcelona 2011 Main Titles

Como todos los años, los títulos de OFFF. Un festival de Post-digital que este año se ha celebrado en Barcelona. Dirigido por Mischa Rozema.

The opening titles reflect their dark thoughts on a possible future. Directed by Mischa and shot on location in Prague, the film guides the viewer through a grim scenario embedded with the names of artists appearing at this year’s OFFF festival. The live action was brought back to Amsterdam for post, primarily carried out by PostPanic’s in-house team of artists but also with the additional help of freelancers and partner companies that we have enjoyed strong creative relationships with over the years. It’s really fair to say that this was a labour of love by a passionate crew of people.

Soy muy fan de Ryoji Ikeda y el otro día en un blog me encontré que ha creado una nueva instalación llamada The Transfinite. Ryoji Ikeda es un japones que vive en Paris y se dedica a la música electrónica y las instalaciones de video. Estuvo el año pasado en el Sonar.
